It’s a joy to share our passion with you.
We might be biased, but there is no better way to enjoy the Shore than by horseback. We have a passion for our historic land and a great love for our small herd of beautiful Paso Fino horses. It’s a delight for us to share both with you.
Elizabeth Buyrn
OWNER, OPERATOR, & LEAD-GUIDE
Elizabeth grew up here, on Eyreville, the family farm. She was horse crazy from the start and was fortunate to have a family of horse lovers to nurture her passion.
Her own first horse was a purebred Arabian named "Authority", that took her from tearing around the farm bareback to formal riding lessons and showing.
Although she knew horses would always be an important part of her life, she didn't dare assume a career with them until she moved to Vieques Island, Puerto Rico in 2006. The local Paso Fino horses were fancy, spunky and fun, just like her Arabians at home!
She saw the opportunity to start a trail riding business on a Caribbean island, with beautiful horses, and the rest is history!
She's thrilled to be home, even if it's just for the summer months, to share her passion for pretty horses and exploring nature with you on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.
Ride Our Paso Fino Horses
Our Paso Fino horses, commonly referred to as “The Kids”, are very well-behaved and easy to handle, even for less experienced riders and children. The attribute that really sets them apart is their gait. It is an evenly-spaced, four-beat lateral gait with each foot contacting the ground independently, resulting in unequaled smoothness and comfort for the rider. No special shoeing or training aids are necessary, it is totally natural and normally exhibited from birth. This is why the Paso Fino is known as the smoothest riding horse in the world!
In addition to this crew of Paso Fino geldings, we have two Arabian mares that are products of my family’s breeding program. You might find them guiding your tour or simply gracing the pastures with their “look at me” presence.
