Meet the Horses
Our Paso Fino horses, commonly referred to as “The Kids”, are very well-behaved and easy to handle, even for less experienced riders and children. The attribute that really sets them apart is their gait. It is an evenly-spaced, four-beat lateral gait with each foot contacting the ground independently, resulting in unequaled smoothness and comfort for the rider. No special shoeing or training aids are necessary, it is totally natural and normally exhibited from birth. This is why the Paso Fino is known as the smoothest riding horse in the world!
In addition to this crew of Paso Fino geldings, we have two Arabian mares that are products of my family’s breeding program. You might find them guiding your tour or simply gracing the pastures with their “look at me” presence.
-
Bombi
At approximately 35 years old, he’s the senior member of our herd, and no, he’s not retired. The spunkiest, most ornery ones never do! Although he’s mellowed in his older age, and does a great job taking care of our youngest riders, he still has all of his opinions. You might see him roaming the yard, as he’s earned this privilege.
-
Chino
This guy came to us from basically unknown origin and has proven himself to be a great addition to the herd. His willingness to please is quite evident to his riders and he’s turned out to be great for younger clients. He has a very smooth, natural paso that keeps him near the front of the pack!
-
Apollo
This smooth and quick gentleman is a blast to ride for any level rider and loves attention. My favorite “go all day” mountain pony. He’s pretty shy and can even be hard to catch sometimes. He’s a sassy red-head, what else would we expect from him?
-
Rascal
His name fits him to a T! He’ll be the first one to walk up to you in the pasture and follow you around like a puppy dog. He and Radar are bestest friends. Super versatile on rides as he doesn’t care where he is in line and loves to show off his slow corto when others are walking.
-
Alejandro
The youngest addition, he’s the only Pure Puerto Rico Paso Fino in the herd. This doesn’t mean he came from Puerto Rico, but all of his ancestors did. He’s a chill guy that just goes with the flow, and is so smooth to ride.
-
Lindo
The pretty boy from Ohio. Problem is, he knows he’s pretty. Therefore he’s one of the bosses in the pasture and has the ladies, Ally being at his beck and call. Makes sense that he’s a forward-moving guy that prefers the front of the line.
-
Fuego
The mighty Fuego can take you anywhere you want to go, all
day long. This guy has endurance and speed at the corto that makes him great for intermediate and experienced rides, especially. You won’t find a smoother gaited horse! -
Radar
The sweetest, most sensitive, handsome fella. He’s quiet and unassuming in the pasture, yet forward and responsive with his riders. He aims to please, always. A perfect gentleman all around.
-
Cass & Mateo
Maternal brothers and best buddies. You won’t find them far from one another. Cass is the biggest boy we have and Mateo is tall and slender. Both are very gentle and kind.
-
Alorah ("Ally")
This little lady is a mirror image of her beautiful mother that taught me so much as a child. She is the sweetest, most “in-your-pocket”, spunky gal that was a hit with the YMCA kids. She too is one of our guide horses.
-
Sundarah ("Dee")
She might be a girl, but she rules the roost at this farm full of boys! Must have something to do with her blonde locks and sassy attitude. Besides those obvious characteristics, she is a great guide horse.
